Morrinho in The Newspaper “Jornal O Globo” Today
Yet one more time Morrinho has appeared in the media – this time in the national newspaper “Jornal O Globo” on December 12, 2007.
The Artist Sergio Cesar, The Author of “Portelinha”, Donates Part of His Work to The NGO Morrinho!
On December 1 during the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Nelcirlan and Maiquinho won part of the favela “Portelinha” by the artist Sergio Cesar. Portelinha was produced for the opening of the internationally recognized novel “Duas Caras”.
An edition of the NGO Morrinho will be found within Portelinha.

Our team recorded their visit with the objective in mind of getting to know the tourism fair and to make new contacts for their product, Morrinho Tourism.

Morrinho 2 is a new construction site of the kids of Pereira that they themselves are building. They are having fun in the copying of the original artists. They are still organizing the project in Pereira da Silva and have the same objective.

With the support of Turisrio, the tourism company for the State of Rio de Janeiro, Morrinho will display its work throughout December 2007 during the Tourism Fair of São Paulo, one of the most important fairs of the discipline.

“Morrinho, The Film” tells the story of the eight youth that transformed their lives through a kids’ game that became recognized internationally as a work of contemporary art – most recently recognized at the Biennial of Venice. Under the direction of Fábio Gavião, Director of the NGO Morrinho, “Morrinho, The Film” was produced by the producers of TV Morrinho and by the members of the community that used to play at the model that they built at Vila Pereira da Silva, the Pereirão in Laranjeiras in Rio de Janeiro.
This model of 300 square meters is open to the public and is aligned with the policies of sustainable development in that is has a vision to reduce its impact on the environment and preserve the land for future generations.

After crossing 3,800 meters of trail through Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world - after climbing the stairs that lead to the lookout point, we arrived at one of the modern wonders of the world, Christ The Redeemer. Morrinho, it was totally worth it!!!

Morrinho Expo at Plaza São Salvador in Laranjeiras
This Saturday and Sunday, September 15 and 16, Morrinho will be displaying its work in the Plaza São Salvador in Laranjeiras. Present will be artists from Laranjeiras and Cosme Velho. Come and see!
Morrinho at The Launching of The Guide of Santa Teresa
Today was the launching of the Dining, Cultural and Touristic Guide of Santa Teresa at 10:30 at the Hotel Manuá Bela Vista.
Among other celebrities of the tourist trade, present at the event were the Special Secretary of Tourism, Dr. Rubem Medina; the Secretary of Tourism, Mr. Paulo Bastos; President/Director of Riotur, Mr. Luiz Felipe Bonilha; and Executive Director of RCVB, Mr. Paulo Senise.
Other supporters are the Business Network of Santa Teresa, the Network of Hosts Cama e Café, the Network of Visual Artists of Santa Teresa, the project “Chave Mestra”, the members of Gaia Tour, and Morrinho.

Morrinho At The CAIXA Cultural from July 12 to September 19, 2007
Morrinho is one of the Brazilian groups presenting at the 52nd Biennial of Venice. Merely improvising, one boy with left over bricks, cement and paint for a game: a model. After being a distraction, it turned into a serious subject and attracted many collaborators and started to call attention.
What is MORRINHO?
It is a model of 300 square meters situated in the Vila Pereira da Silva on the Pereirão Hill in the Laranjeiras neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. It is made from remains of bricks and other recycled materials to reproduce a small-sized favela. The exposition at the CAIXA Cultura is the brick models situated in Morro do Pereirão.

The Before and After Venice
The model represented in Venice was made up of 13,000 bricks under open skies making up the largest international exhibition of Pereirão.
In addition to Robert Store, American art curator, declaring Morrinho as a work of art, the show in Venice represents a breaking of paradigms and a parting of waters in the lives of these natural architects.
It was only with a lot of teamwork and determination that the work in Venice could turn out like this!

Exhibition Caixa Cultural Can Be Taken Home!
Today, August 19, is the last day of the Exhibition “Morrinho A Small Revolution” in the Hall of Caixa Cultural Rio de Janeiro, but don’t be sad!
You can take the Exhibition home! All of the brick that were taken from the site will be brought to the NGO TV Morrinho and restored in order to be sold to those who admire these architects that turned their dream into a reality!
On top of helping the NGO, you can have a memory of the Exhibition that represented Brazilian Art at PAN of Brazil!

TV Morrinho on Nickelodion
An exhibition of a few of the productions of the NGO TV Morrinho will be shown for six months on the Nickelodion Channel as a test for the productions of the Pereirão Model to be sold in an “episode” format as their respective dolls, produced and directed by these idealists that turned their play into work!
